David Malone
David Malone was appointed Chief Executive Officer of FOX SPORTS in 2000.
Since Mr Malone’s appointment, FOX SPORTS has grown from a single channel to currently providing seven to the AUSTAR and FOXTEL platforms, along with a number of business units.
To better represent the growing diversity of the business, the company name was changed from FOX SPORTS to Premier Media Group in 2004, with Mr Malone’s title becoming Chief Executive Officer, Premier Media Group.
Premier Media Group produces FOX SPORTS 1HD, 2HD, 3HD, and FOX SPORTS 1, 2, 3, FUELTV and the HOW TO Channel. It also produces Australia’s number one general sports website, foxsports.com.au. Other extensions of the company include FOX SPORTS Stats which provides sports statistics to both internal and external parties, FOX SPORTS Digital which provides mobile content to all major telcos and FOX SPORTS Venues which sells the FOXTEL channels into clubs, hotels and cafes across Australia.
Prior to joining FOX SPORTS, Mr Malone successfully set up and was CEO of subscription television’s advertising arm, MCN, and spent over a decade in senior sales management and executive roles working for News Ltd, PBL and the Nine Network. Before his career in sales, he worked in the production side of television for the Nine Network and Network Ten.
Mr Malone is on the board of the Australian Subscription and Television Radio Association and is a member of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
