Robbert Van Den Bogaardt

Robbert joined Optus in September 1999 and is currently the Director of Consumer Strategy. The Optus Consumer Division is responsible for the provision of value and quality products and services to Australian consumers including mobile, voice and data services, long distance and local telephony, high-speed internet access and digital television. Within Consumer, the Strategy group is accountable for developing and evaluating future strategies designed to improve shareholder wealth over the long term and for driving our objective of leading the market in Customer Experience.

Optus is an Australian leader in integrated telecommunications, delivering cutting-edge communications, information technology and entertainment services. Serving more than eight million customers each day, the company specialises in a broad range of communications services including mobile, local, national and long distance telephone, business network services, internet and satellite services and subscription television. In 2001 SingTel became the parent company of Optus, paving the way to become a strong and strategic telecommunications player within the Asia-Pacific region.

Before joining Optus, Robbert held various senior roles over a period of 10 years in an international multimedia company, MIH Ltd, which focuses on Pay T.V., ISP’s and Social Networking sites, as well as technology platforms, such as My Star that is utilised here in Australia by Austar. These roles included the Director of Marketing and Sales in Holland, Director of Business Development in the Benelux, and Vice President of Business Development in the Asia Pacific Region.

Robbert has an Honours Degree (with Distinction) in Finance and Marketing and has a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
