MEMBERSHIP
ASTRA is the principal body representing the subscription television and narrowcast radio industry in Australia.
ASTRA offers four categories of membership and encourages active member participation across a number of platforms.
ASTRA membership benefits include opportunities for formal representation at Board and committee level, regular industry events and briefings and exclusive access to the latest industry and regulatory information.
Membership includes full access to the new ASTRA online forum which is designed to encourage discussion and to facilitate the sharing of information to keep members up to date with the latest industry news and developments.
Eligibility
Any person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of subscription television and interested in fulfilling the objects of the association is eligible for membership in ASTRA, upon approval of the Board.
This includes Platform License Operators (with a license pursuant to the Broadcast Services Act 1992 for subscription television broadcasting services, or open or subscription television narrowcasting services, with a minimum of 10,000 Customers); Program Channel Providers (a company providing one or more program channels to a third party for distribution); and other persons directly involved in broadcasting, narrowcasting and or communications.
Annual Fee
Annual fees to ASTRA are determined by category membership. ASTRA has four categories of membership: Platform License Operators, Program Channel Providers, Associate and Affiliate Members.
