When I’m not at work I spend my time… with my wife Kylie and two young boys Ned and Albie. Entertaining at home. When the good horses come out in Spring I like to have a punt.
The person that most influenced my decisions in life when I was younger was… the headmaster at the Jesuit college I attended in Melbourne along with the teachers. It was a pretty strict education but provided the right values to get through life.
The last interesting book that I read was… Who Wants to be a Billionaire by Paul Barry.
My first job was… in the Insolvency division at Peat Marwick Mitchell (now KPMG) during the day and washing dishes in a Melbourne café at night.
My guiltiest pleasure is… a week in Melbourne without the kids for the Spring Racing Carnival followed shortly after by a week in Hong Kong for the International Races.
At school, I was known for… spending way too much time focussed on sport rather than study.
My favourite movie of all time is… Pulp Fiction.
I know it’s not cool but I love… listening to old Oz Rock i.e. Dragon, Matt Finish.
The person I most admire is… my wife. She manages a successful career and is the perfect mother to our children. Outside of family I would have to say Jim Stynes not only for his very public battle with cancer but for his work with young Australians over many years.
My friends say that I… am obsessive compulsive when it comes to tidiness! I disagree I just don’t like crap everywhere.
My hope for the future is… that my children grow up in an environment that offers them the same opportunities that I was provided and they make the most of those opportunities.
